Christian Ruud, born August 24, 1972, in Oslo, is a Norwegian former tennis player who turned professional in 1991. In October 1995, he achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 39. He reached the fourth round of the 1997 Australian Open and the quarterfinals of the 1997 Monte Carlo Masters.
In addition, he was highest ranked Norwegian male player ever on the ATP Tour. However, it was his own son, Casper Ruud surpassed him in February 2020. Talk about the next generation being better than the previous one.
The former tennis player has represented Norway at three consecutive Olympic Games. In 1996, he reached the third round in Atlanta.
