David Michael Bautista Jr., an American actor, and former professional wrestler was born on January 18, 1969.
Between 2002 and 2019, he worked for WWE on multiple occasions. Since the release of Guardians of the Galaxy, the most well-known role in his acting career is that of Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (2014).
Bautista began his wrestling career in 1999 and signed with the World Wrestling Federation in 2000. (WWF, renamed WWE in 2002). From 2002 to 2010, he rose to prominence as Batista, becoming a six-time world champion after winning the World Heavyweight Championship four times and the WWE Championship twice. At 282 days, his first reign as World Heavyweight Champion was the longest in history. He has also held the World Tag Team Championship three times (once with Ric Flair and once with John Cena), as well as the WWE Tag Team Championship once (with Rey Mysterio). He won the Royal Rumble match in 2005 and went on to headline WrestleMania 21, which was one of the top five highest-grossing pay-per-view events in professional wrestling history.
