Dr. Dale Burleson, MD – Plano, TX

Dr. Dale Burleson is a colorectal surgeon in Plano and Frisco, TX and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Baylor Frisco, Baylor Plano, Medical City Plano, and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano. After graduating Plan II at the University of Texas at Austin, he received his medical degree from Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. After residency in General Surgery at the University of Kansas-Wichita he did a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic and has been in practice 24 years. He also speaks multiple languages, including Italian. He is experienced in all aspects of colon and rectal surgery including colorectal cancer, diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, hemorrhoids and other anorectal disease, along with colonoscopy and laparoscopy/minimally invasive/robotic surgery. He has a special interest in colonoscopy performing more than 1000 colonoscopies/year while being a resource/referral source in the region removing difficult polyps via endoscopic mucosal resection that would otherwise require surgery. He is the lead surgeon for the Baylor Frisco robotic colorectal surgery epicenter (Intuitive Surgical/DaVinci) both hosting visiting surgeons for case observation in their early training and traveling and proctoring surgeons at the he conclusion of their robotic training. He is a past Chief of Surgery at multiple hospitals in El Paso and Dallas areas and is currently Chief of the Division of Colorectal surgery at Baylor Plano along with the Director of Robotic Surgery. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees at Baylor Plano. He is currently a member of the Board of Managers at Baylor Frisco. He has served as Managing Partner of Texas Colon and Rectal Surgeons and is currently the Director of Finance. Dr Burleson lives in Plano, Texas with his wife Jennifer and daughter Jessica.
