Edie Falco parents: Meet Frank Falco, Judith Anderson

American actress Edith Falco was born on July 5, 1963. The roles of Carmela Soprano on the HBO television series The Sopranos (1999–2007) and Nurse Jackie Peyton on the Showtime television series Nurse Jackie are the ones for which she is best remembered (2009–2015). In the HBO prison drama Oz, she also played Diane Whittlesey (1997–2000).

In the web comedy Horace and Pete in 2016, she portrayed Sylvia Wittel. In the inaugural season of the true crime anthology series Law & Order True Crime in 2017, she played defense lawyer Leslie Abramson. Judy Berlin (1999) and Laws of Gravity (1992), for which she was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead, are among Falco’s notable cinema appearances.

She has also had supporting parts in Sunshine State (2002), Freedomland (2006), and The Comedian (2016). She was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her performance in the 2011 Broadway revival of The House of Blue Leaves. Falco has won two Golden Globes (out of eleven nominations) and four Emmys (out of fourteen nominations), all for individual performances.
