Højgaard is currently not married. Højgaard was a member of the squad that captured the McGregor Trophy and the 2016 European Boys’ Team Championship 2016.
He won the 2017 European Boys Team Championship by defeating Spain in the championship match while representing Continental Europe in the Jacques Léglise Trophy competition.
