An American actor by the name of Shemar Franklin Moore was born on April 20, 1970.
He played Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless from 1994 to 2005, Derek Morgan on Criminal Minds from 2005 to 2016, and Sergeant II Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, the show’s principal character, on S.W.A.T. from 2017 to the present. All of these roles were on CBS. Between 1999 until 2003, Moore served as Soul Train’s third permanent host.

Moore worked on The Young and the Restless from 1999 to 2003[9] and hosted the syndicated version of the show Soul Train.
He also starred in the 2001 drama The Brothers. From 2002 to 2003, he portrayed Detective Jesse Reese in the television show Birds of Prey. Alongside Vivica Fox and Golden Brooks, Moore played Emery Simms in the 2004 movie Motives. She also had a supporting part in the movie Diary of a Mad Black Woman.
Moore also starred alongside Kelly Rowland and Duane Martin in the love story The Seat Filler.
In 2005, Moore was cast in the seventh episode of the first season of Criminal Minds, when he debuted as Derek Morgan, and he left the show a year later.
