The National Football League’s Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Chatarius “Tutu” Atwell was born on October 7, 1999. Prior to being taken by the Rams in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, he played college football for Louisville.
Atwell attended Miami Northwestern High School in Miami, Florida. He played quarterback for four years straight in high school. He received Miami-Dade County Player of the Year honors as a senior. Atwell decided to go to the University of Louisville to play football in college.
At Louisville, Atwell was moved to wide receiver. He appeared in 12 games as a rookie in 2018, amassing 24 receptions for 406 yards and two touchdowns. In 2019, he started 11 of 13 games as a sophomore, finishing with 70 receptions for 1,276 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The 1,276 yards set a new school record and led the ACC. Due to an unidentified ailment, Atwell declared on December 8, 2020, that he would opt out for the remainder of the 2020 season.
